Tall or long cocktails often feature a relatively high proportion of mixer to spirit content. This includes cocktails like a Mojito, Gin Fizz or Seabreeze – or indeed any Collins drink. Sometimes called the chimney glass, the Collins is perhaps one of the most commonly-used cocktail glass, given the popularity of long cocktails served over ice. This long drink glass comes in different sizes ranging from a capacity to brim of 8oz to 14oz. The small size is ideal for serving Fizzes, while a 12oz Collins comfortably contains a standard 330ml beer. Many bartenders favour 12oz (35cl) or 14oz (40cl) versions, which are most versatile. Although you can find Collins glasses of various shapes, the classic design has straight sides. If you have to choose a handful of cocktail glasses, the Collins glass should be part of your bar collection. Related Content
