By reducing the surface area of the drink that is exposed to air, this ensures that bubbles escape less quickly than with other glasses, keeping the champagne's fizz for longer. There is simply no substitute for serving champagne cocktails properly. Given champagne cocktails are not served with ice, a Flute should always be chilled properly beforehand. The easiest way is by placing it in a freezer, but filling it with crushed ice and soda for a few minutes is quicker and often good enough. Always hold a Flute by the stem to avoid warming up the cocktail and leaving thumbprints. A Flute usually features a capacity to the brim of around 6oz (17cl).
