Sour

Sour

Sour cocktail glassThe Sour glass features a wide lip and narrow stem and takes its name from the Sour cocktail.

This glass is best used chilled beforehand as it is not intended to be used for serving cocktails on ice. Once a Sour cocktail is readily mixed, simply strain into the chilled Sour glass to serve.

If you already have an Old-fashioned glass, this can be used instead of a Sour. This usually means pouring the cocktail over ice cubes for best effect.

Unless you regularly make Sour cocktails, this glass is less essential than some of the others described in this section, such as the Martini or Collins.

A typical Sour glass usually has a capacity of around 4oz (12cl).
