Grapefruit juice

Grapefruit juice

Just like the cranberry, grapefruit contains lots of antioxidants and vitamins - particularly when the flesh is darker.

Even when ripe, grapefruit yield a juice that is sharper than orange juice, providing an interesting base for making a number of classic cocktails such as Seabreeze and some versions of Mai Tai.

Making the juice yourself is as simple as for any citrus fruit. Take care to remove the pith (which make the juice bitter). Once you have obtained the juice, pour it through a fine filter to stop any small bits of fruit from being included in your cocktails.
