Raspberries

Raspberries

Raspberries are sweet and intense, rich in antioxidant vitamin C and a key ingredient for many cocktails. They are mostly used for their juice or as a garnish.

Raspberries can be cultivated in many different colours, including yellow, orange, purple, although the majority tend to be either red or black. On top of adding an interesting flavour to the drink, this often helps inject colour into a cocktail.

Raspberries produce little juice. However, a small amount is usually sufficient for most cocktail recipes. Rather than putting them in an electric juicer, the easiest way to extract raspberry juice is either to blend them into a puree, or simply muddle the fruits inside your shaker or your cocktail glass.

Raspberries are used in a variety of cocktails, including Berry Nice, Blood Orange, and variations of Caipirinha and Margarita. Whether they are used for their juice or simply as a cocktail garnish, raspberries are a very useful cocktail ingredient to have at hand.
