Lemon Sorbet About this CocktailType: Other Cocktails This delicious alcoholic sorbet recipe can be used with any citrus fruit. Simply replace the lemon juice and peel by orange, lime or grapefruit. This sorbet can be enjoyed either as a desert, or from time to time as a cocktail ingredient. Contributor: Book of Cocktails How to Make itIngredients3/4 cup Mineral Water (Boiling) 1 cupful Sugar (Granulated White) 1/2 cup Lemon Juice 5 rinds Lemon 1/4 cup Limoncello 2 spoons Orange Bitters 2 fresh Egg White Garnishes5 strips Lemon Rind Choice of Cocktail GlassDetailed MethodWhen grating the lemon rind, take care to avoid the pith. Heat the water in a pan and add sugar. Simmer while stirring until the sugar has dissolved completely. Add the lemon juice and lemon rind, leaving the ingredients to simmer for another 2-3 minutes. Switch off the heat and let the ingredients cool off. Fine strain into a bowl and add the limoncello liqueur and orange bitters. Separately beat the egg whites, then slowly fold them into the mix. Once everything has been mixed properly, leave in a freezer for no more than 3-4 days before serving. Add strips of lemon rind to garnish. I'm a terrible cook and I tried this at home. It tasted really nice, the orange bitters and limoncello do the trick! I'm going to try it with orange and lime next! Thank you for this great recipe :)
